Garage cleaner

With all the work in the garage the sawdust has been building up.

building up to the point that even i had to do some cleaning. dust in every nook and cranny. with the cold weather coming a clean house is essential to keeping away the critters.

one gas powered leaf blower made short work of it. opened the door and out it went. a smoke cloud that probably covered a quarter of the block.

Length of shower

Barleywines are those types of beers that are not best enjoyed from a bottle.

this length of shower was the remainder of that which was not partaken from the glass.
just enough to properly finish a shower.

Rich color, sweet from the big grain bill and a good persistent head that laced down the glass.

a very good beer.

Two design

Even reminding notes on how to make black inked guide lines glazed porcelain.
defining grids that help proportion the overglaze enameling.

the curvilinear nature of the vessel demands bands of simple, flowing lines. simple but more depth than a mere line.

Bloody mary chili

A guaranteed win.
whatever your favorite chili recipe is add a spicy bloody mary mix.

nothing wrong with whatever kind of chili you prefer: from the sweataholics to the mild meaty types. just start with your favorite recipe.

some recommendations:
if using canned tomatoes consider draining it before adding to chili, this will reduce the liquid.
also if using chili powder/mix consider reducing it by half. this depends on how much pep the mix has.
start out with about 2 cups of bloody mary mix per quart. and then allow to simmer until you get to your preferred viscosity.
